Hallo, I'm looking for some information about a couple of Cabasse crossovers I have since 1980. They are mounted in wooden boxes 22x15x8,5 cm and weight 2 kilo's each. In one side in written Cabasse entrance and 3V7C 30.
In the opposite side: -TW+ -MEDIUM+ -GRAVE+
I would be grateful if someone could tell me some details about the dividing frequencies and other technical data. I only know the impedance (7 ohms) and that the quality is excelent!

Welcome to this bulletin Board!

I gather you are talking about a passive filter here, so no mains connection or amplification involved.

Passive filters from that era would have a 5-digit numerical ID code.

The -30 digit on the case could possibly point to a Sampan filter. But I am not aware of any models sporting cross-overs in separate boxes.

Did you open it? Is there any code on the PCB?

If all else fails you could draw up the electrical scheme. The coils will probably have no means of direct identification, but the capacitors most likely will and these will give you a good indication of the cross-over frequencies. Based on the rest of the design (12? 24? db/oct) you could try to re-calculate the values of the coils.

If you would go that route let me know what you find, I might be able to help.

Last resort: someone here could write an email in French on your behalf to Cabasse in Brest.

I think that some pictures migth help us to recognise first wich speaker it is. Then we'll help you with the crossover frequency and any data available.
Please, first, check this 1980's catalogto see if something ring a bell.

Hi Walt, thank you for your fast answer! As a matter of fact I bought the filters in the early 80's s, separately and without technical data! I made then my one cabinets and now I want to change the system, using the same filters! I open the wooden boxes but no data is written inside! Only what I mention: ENTRÉE FILTRE 3V 7C 30.
The catalogue you sent refers only to cabasse cabinets and not specific to crossovers. About photos I'll try to send some!
The boxes are made from plywood finish with a layer of varnish. What is important for me is to know what the dividing frequentie of the low tones is because of making a system with subwoofer.

il ya un filtre qui rasemble aux filtres que j'ai! Seulement il est plus petit. Mes filtres ont 5 condensateurs au papier metallisé (TS 160 VCC) :
2x 6,8Mf; 1x 15Mf; 1x 8Mf et 1x 1Mf.
J'ai aussi trouvé dans un petit autocollant rouge le numéro suivant:
3.8763. Peut-être il sagit d'une reference! Il te dit quelque chose?
